The weekend has just packed up for the week until it shows its delightful head in 5 days time when St. Valentine and Cupid will be doing the rounds. Reflection on the weekend just passed however causes mix feelings.
Let's start with the positives.
Friday night was a corker. Fresh from the celebrity Big Brother house
Sisqo unleashed his dragon here in Chester at RBs nightclub while the female population flocked to show him their thongs. If only Stephanie Beecham was there to acknowledge once again that "Sisqo has a wonderful bottom." That is by far the best quote out of the CBB house ever. (One of those be there to understand it things)
The only downside to the night before is the day after and although I felt fine (considering the vast amount of alcohol consumed) tiredness was to be my defeater. As a result work on the
DISSERTATION failed to really kick off bearing in mind that it was due Monday, 8 Feb (in draft form) but all was not lost as the 2010 Six Nations kicked off on Saturday. Alas, the Twickenham Centenary, 100 hundred years of rugby between England and Wales. England won as many expected although towards the end it was squeaky bum time after a Welsh rally. Earlier in the day the Ireland/Italy game was so boring that it's not worth mentioning past this full stop.
So Saturday was my early sabbath, my premature day of rest. This meant Sunday was going to be a busy day. Scotland were in action against France, I had a dissertation to crack on with as well as delving into some
GAMBLING with the fellow housemates in a game of poker.
We often hold a game of poker in our house. It is a great way to throw friendly banter at each other while secretly thinking I am going to fleece you for all your worth. Now with me I am normally buying back in after around 45 mins but all is not lost because after buying back in I seem to find this phenomenal luck of pulling off flushes and straights on the river and as a result finish the game UP, much to the distate of my fellow peers.
The main lows of the weekend however, were Doncaster's
FAILURE to beat Reading and Scotland's, too put it bluntly, piss poor performance against the French. It meant that the all nighter Sunday night on the dissertation was going to be a long one.
The passing of time however was aided by the
FASHION documentary,
The September Issue, in which a camera crew followed around the
Vogue editor, Anna Wintour. In doing so the viewers got an insight in the workings of Vogue and also the 'ice woman' that is Anna Wintour. This documentary came highly recommended by a fellow housemate who is one of Anna's biggest fans. Personally, I found her very intriguing also and was in awe of how respected she was. If only they had the deleted scenes, I bet that would throw up some few choice words by her.
